If you are picking up a book to curl up with on a cold winter’s night, or looking for a gift for the book lover on your Christmas list, I highly recommend: James Bowen’s – ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’.
The author is very open about the demons he has faced in his life, and the friendship that developed with a stray cat. This friendship ultimately helps him overcome his issues, and get on the road to health and recovery. He shares his struggles with taking on the responsibility of Bob, the decisions he had to make to ensure a life for the both of them and some of the scary events and trials they go through together. You watch as trust evolves in their relationship that rapidly turns to a strong bond and a deep need and love for one another.
It reminds us that sometimes we are not the ones rescuing our companion animals, but rather they us.
