June 2007 update
All of the horses pictured below have now found homes….
Interested in adopting a horse? Please visit the website of Bear Valley Rescue in Alberta. Click on “The Horses” section to view available horses, and go to “Contact Us” to get in touch with this hard-working organization. They rescue slaughter-bound horses right out of a local feedlot.
TRACS will help with transport costs for loads of two or more horses travelling to approved homes across Canada or to the U.S. Send us an e-mail.
Please contact TRACS if you are interested in adopting any of these deserving, wonderful rescued horses. Call: 250-763-8214 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. A veterinary reference is mandatory. TRACS also has an adoption contract, and we reserve the right to choose the home we feel would be the very best for each individual animal. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the adopter.
Handsome, well-conformed dark brown 3-year-old Quarter Horse cross, named “Ambassador”; available for adoption fee of $500.
Jack who used to be a carriage horse in Stanley Park and has now been placed with some help from TRACS! Read this great adoption story!
Grey 3-year-old Quarter Horse cross, named “Legend”; available for adoption fee of $500.
The 2-year-old filly, “Angelgirl” has a foreleg deformity and will never be suitable for riding purposes. She will be adopted to an approved home as a companion horse for $1.
“Buttercup” is a half-wild, older range pony who now eats out of our hands. She will likely never be rideable. We are looking for a special home for her, where she can just “be a horse”. She needs room to roam and the company of other horses. Her yearling foal, Romeo, is also available.
“Romeo”, Buttercup’s foal, now a gelded yearling, is available for an adoption fee of $500. Here he is with his mom!
